Commercialisation and Product Development Manager

Joel is a seasoned Commercialisation and Product Development Manager with a robust background in bringing innovative products to market. His expertise lies in navigating the intricacies of product development life cycles, having contributed his skills to both small and medium enterprises as well as industry giants such as Teys Australia, Nutritious Cuisine, and Mighty Good Food Group (Jims Jerky).

With a passion for elevating the quality of food products and businesses, Joel has had experience working with a diverse range of categories. From high-risk ready-to-eat meals to sous vide meats, soups, sauces, bakery items, frozen value-added meat products, ambient dehydrated meat products, as well as desserts and thickened foods, he brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Joel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Biotechnology and a Master’s Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Queensland, where he is currently also pursuing his PhD on “AI and it’s impact on end consumers in the Food and Beverage Industry”, demonstrating his commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the sector.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Joel finds joy in outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, and climbing. An avid soccer player in his free time, he values the camaraderie of team sports. Additionally, Joel nurtures his creative side through musical pursuits and, most recently, the art of pottery wheel throwing. His multifaceted interests and skills contribute to a well-rounded professional dedicated to enhancing the world of food innovation.
