
2024 FIAQ The Regulators View From the Hill: Jim Dodd
Jim Dodds holds the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Safe Food Production Queensland, and is a Life Fellow of Environmental Health Australia and a Fellow of Leadership Western Australia.
He has extensive experience in senior leadership roles and in the national food regulation system, including as a member of the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulation Standing Committee since 1996 and co-chairs its strategic planning committee.
He has also led a project on harmonising the regulatory actions within the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulatory System.
As CEO at Safe Food, he oversaw a number of cross industry forums to produce and share guidance material to assist businesses achieve their regulatory obligations for Food Safety and Public Health during the COVID-19 epidemic and is steering an innovative approach to regulatory co-design which will guide the agency’s implementation of the Australian Standards for Food Safety in Horticulture.
