The Craft of Quality Beer Seminar – October 2022

FIAQ proudly welcomed AMSL’s Cassandra Hogan and Wiley’s Chris Herring for our final seminar: “The Craft of Quality Beer”.

Cass took us on a micro spoilage tour-de-force, teaching the importance of micro testing and risk analysis at each stage of brewing. We learned why cans of beer mysteriously explode, the causes of taints and “sour notes”, and the uber importance of a “clean machine”!

Chris delivered a “worts and all” brewhouse masterclass, as we “hopped” our way through mashing, malting, cooking, yeasting, chilling and maturing!  On a wild and fizzy ride, Chris “clarified” every possible nuance of producing Glorious Golden Ale!

Those who braved the weather were rewarded with an amazing night of fun, information, good food principles and great company!  Special thanks to our wonderful co-producers AMSL.  And to Cass and Chris… a very big “CHEERS” and grateful thank you from all at FIAQ!
